It's that time of year again... the most expensive North American music festival of the year: COACHELLA.  Despite the many reasons to hate it (the dust, the prices, the security, the celebs, VIP pens, people dressed impossibly cooler-than-you), it boasts an all-in-one line-up that's impossible to pass up.  This Tuesday's Turn-on is devoted to my favorites of this year's festival:

...Here's the highlights (translated: I got tired of writing about each one). Why don't you just listen?

Capitol Cities.  I had the pleasure of seeing this band during CMJ two years ago in NYC and it was so much FUN!  Their live show is a goofy, dancey, sing-along free-for-all.

The Preatures.  Holy shit. Girl crush like whoa.  Isabella Manfredi has an incredible voice.  You have to hear her live. It was a pleasant surprise that the band's live show is actually more punk-rock inspired than you'd expect from their single: "Is this How You Feel?"

Future Islands.  I have no words. Just watch their performance of "Seasons" on Letterman. It will complete your life.

*James Vincent McMorrow  "Cavalier" is one of the most beautiful songs of 2014. Here's a rare remix of the track in smooth house fashion that maintains the gorgeous integrity of the original.

*Blood Orange (remixed by Holy Ghost!).  Killin two favorite birds with one stone here because both Blood Orange and Holy Ghost! will be at Coachella this year.  The smooth funkiness of this remix evokes one of my all-time favorites, Prince. (swoon)

*Adventure Club  Constantly churning out thick, whompy remixes of pop gems like Foxes "Youth".

Chvrches  Synthy and unique, this electro-trio from Scotland are freaking adorable. Check out this newly released remix of their first single: "Mother We Share"

HAIM  Duh. An all-sister band that writes pop rock and jams like legends of the 70's.  If you don't know who they are yet, you've seriously been living under a rock. And while I wanted to highlight mostly lesser-knowns, this band is incredible and is a must-see.

* SLEIGH BELLS  A duo that will sonically blow your face off and make you wanna thrash. Get the free download of "Demons" (Diplo RMX)
